Sunday, January 15th, the Dalplex saw it’s second round of league games in the season. In the first game of the evening Dal Black and Halifax Wavecutters squared off in what proved to be a challengingly close game.

The final score was 9-5 in favor of Dal Black.

Even though Dal Black came out on top, it was a victory well worked for, as the Wavecutters seemed to match the score shot for shot in the beginning quarters.

Tim, Jonathan and Kai all scored twice for Dal Black, while Julian and Danielle scored twice for Halifax Wavecutters club. Congrats to the 5 of top scorers of the game.

Intensity levels rose in the second game, where Dal Gold played a hard game against Truro.

Dal Gold started off strong ending the first quarter with 3-0. In the second quarter Truro responded with 6 goals, Dal only managing one more. This didn’t sit well with Dal and they stepped up their game in the third quarter, scoring 6 goals but also letting 2 in, ending the quarter with a 10-8 lead.

Challenged, Truro gave it all they had in the final quarter of the game. Truro’s Kerry was able to get 2 of their 3 goals of the quarter. With only one minute left Dal found themselves behind again. Seth was able to score his 4th goal and tie the game at 11-11.

The first game of the evening saw the Dalhousie Black squad take on the Truro team, which featured a mix of both Truro and Stadacona Water Polo club members.Although the scoreboard was heavily in favour of the Dal Black team,it was not a reflection of the close play between the two teams.

A kick-out in the first two minutes of the game led to Dal’s first goal while a man up,coming fromKai Seltner.Solid goaltending from Anastasia Wood in the Dal goal, and 4 goals each from 3 Dal players created a difficult hill for Truro/Stad to climb.

The game ended with a score of 18-4 for Dal Black.

The second game of the evening saw the Halifax Wavecutters club take on Dalhousie Gold. This was a close, fast match, with a final score of 9-4 in favor of the Dal Gold club. The top scorer was Tom Harding, notching 3 goals for Dal Gold in the win.
